Zion... the fifth and final National Park in Utah for me to photograph. Bryce, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, and Arches were all spectacular so I knew Zion had its work cut out for it. Unfortunately, due to Mother Nature, she never had a chance this week. Snow, Ice, and Rain caused severe damage to several trails major overlook trails and a land-slide closed the major East/West highway from Zion to Bryce Canyon (Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway).
So I made the best of it and hiked and photographed just about everything I could. I quickly noticed that although the month of March brings snow and rain to coat the red rocks and fill the creeks and the Virgin River, it's not the best month for foliage so the lack of greenery or Fall colors dulled my images a bit.
